These ski great. Super easy to flip risers and switch from ski to walk.

After riding these bindings in the resort for the past year, I can say without a doubt that they are robust! One tip, when you're not attached to the skis, leave the lever in SKI mode, not STEP IN mode, or else the spring will lose its tension.

I just purchased this binding, and couldn't be happier. As Travis said in his review, this is not the latest "black version". They are however not the first version either. I am pretty sure they are the 14/15 model, which have several major improvements over the first model. They beefed up the pivot pin, and added a locking wire for the pivot pin. They are also easier to get the toe in than the previous model year.

I love these bindings! I found them easier to use than the dynafit tlt speed turn because of the large surface area for ski poles when getting out of them. Very stable at high speeds. Sierra trading post didn't stock the size I needed so I returned and bought from a different supplier for twice the price. Bummer but worth it!

Go with the newest updates for sure, but everything works fantastic! No problems clicking in once you get the hang of the system! Great for the back country, fun on in the resorts (if you don't go to aggressive).

They are super light and durable, could probably run them over with the truck. Ski on them with a pair of freedom sl's.

These come highly recommended, especially at this price!

Note that this is an older model that had a number of problems, such as unusual difficulty getting the toe into the pins. Those problems were resolved in the latest "black" model, which has much more black than white in the design. The newer model also has the TUV safety certification, so you'll usually find "TUV" in the product title, e.g. ("Black Diamond Fritschi Diamir Vipec 12 TUV Binding").

Great binding, but this model does have some issues to be aware of.
