These are really scrambling shoes, not hiking shoes. They have very grippy rubber that works well on technical approaches but not deep lugs or sufficient grip for hiking. I've used them on several technical scrambles at Smith Rock and was very happy with them. They run a bit bigger than standard. My foot measures to just under a US 12 and probably should have gone with a 11.5 in these. Fit is narrow as, again, these are for scrambling where you want your foot tight to get maximum grip on rocks.

Bought these to try out the Stealth soles. These grip like a spider!

I haven't had a chance to test these in the mountains yet, but I've worn them for several hours around town and on long walks with the dog. Out of the box, the fit on these was great, but they do require some break in before they are "trail ready." The foam collar on the tongue is a little weird at first, but after an hour or so you don't notice it anymore. The heel cup was a little stuff, but again, after a few long walks I didn't notice it anymore.
I love the rubber toe cap, and the tread is very grippy on wet surfaces. I like the understated styling, and durability. I'd recommend them and buy them again for sure.
