This is my second pair of Danner boot, the first being a pair of insulated Pronghorns, and the quality seems similar but these wide sized are definitely more narrow than my Pronghorn wides, they were not narrow enough to return, but I have not broke them in yet, they will get a test run in the woods next week.

I needed a medium boot for outside work and thought I'd give these a try. I've always heard Danner was a good brand and I see veterans continue to wear these boots so I figure they must be good. I was right! I'm 6'3" and 300 lbs. I ordered a 13D (medium) and they fit great. I have ditched my everyday running shoes (like I run anyway! haha) and now wear these every day. I wish I had bought two pair.

I haven't had them long enough to say they are durable, but the Danner Tanicus boots have performed well so far. I didn't have any size issues, as noted by some reviews. Mine fit true to size and they are pretty comfortable. Granted, I never wore Danner boots of yore, but I find these to be capable boots. The only limitation is that they are not waterproof as in Gore-Tex or similar products; they seem to have an integrated waterproof booty. I'd recommend them.

I received the correct size and the boots fit well, except BOTH boots dug into my ankles when walking, right where they bend at the hinge while walking. I'm talking about them hurting immediately; not after a long hike. Not a good design. The bending of the boot at the hinge needs to be taken into account in the design. They were good quality otherwise. Returned them.

Unable to rate danner tanicis due to it being mislabeled and/ or so under sized I couldn't put them on. I've been wearing the same size boot for 35 years and never had a boot sized this way.
    Returned to STP.

Just got back from a Scout High Adventure where we covered 10 miles of rugged hiking in 2 days. This was my first chance to wear the boots with no break-in period so I had backup shoes just in case and never used them. Boots were comfortable over bolder fields, comfortable climbing, handled wet rock without slipping, I was impressed! No hot spots, no blisters, LOVE THE BOOTS.

Typical of a company outsourcing production and depending on brand loyalty to sell product.

I like these boots and I bought them for work, but they run small I wear a 12 wide i couldn't get my foot in them so I returned them for a 13 m and they fit good. They do keep your feet cooler than leather work boots . If your going to buy these get 1 size bigger !
