I bought this coat for my son. It's not very warm--better for cool weather, although with a fleece jacket under layer it should work in pretty cold temperatures. It looks great though, very nice fit and it's very comfortable. My son hates wearing winter coats, but doesn't mind this one. I bought it in a size 14-16--he's 5'1" and skinny, and it's a good fit.

My 10 year old wears this every day to school, he loves the hood and that it's warmer than his other "puffy coat" that didn't have the outer protective fabric and also it's more water resistant. Fits well. The zipper is a little hard for him to get lined up right for some reason but after some fiddling he can get it, that's the only reason it got 4 instead of 5 stars.

I was pleasantly surprised by this coat, especially for the price point. The arms are actually long enough for my gangly 12 yr old. We bought the 18-20 because he has ridiculously long arms and we wanted to get two years out of it. He is a 14 right now. I think it will.
He also is the kid who wants to wear a sweatshirt/shorts in December- in Maine. It's going to be a plus that I won't have to fight for him to put this on...so I can continue to focus on making him wear pants. People wear pants during winter.
He likes that it doesn't make the slick/shiny coat 'swish-squeesh' sound when his arms move (he wanted that out there, lol)
