A well cushioned shoe, but was too wide in all respects for my low volume foot.Worked well with my custom orthotics.Just not my shoe.

A great pair of running/hiking shoes for the discount price.

I wanted to love these. They started out great, but I ended up with pretty bruised heels after about 8 miles of hiking. Super comfy and sturdy, but the heel comes up higher than most and caused problems. I have only hiked 18 miles in them and am hoping they break in a little, but I'm not sure that the heel bruising problem will be remedied. Maybe actual trail running would not do the same thing, but I am skeptical of that.

I have successfully worn other Montrail shoes, the Mountain Masochists, FluidFeel and now Bajada. I ordered the FluidFlex ST for added protection and grip on the muddy and rocky trails I like to hit on the weekends. But the fit is really off for me. The back of the shoe at the heel seems to sit really high and it digs into my foot with each step. This was just in trying them on. They also didn't have much cushioning, so back they will go. Other reviewers don't seem to have my issues so perhaps I'm the odd one and not the shoe. :)

I've been wearing these shoes for years now, and buy them up when I can. The colors... not a big fan. But I can get over that for a great shoe.

Montrail is a good brand. I measure a size 7, but I always order a size 7.5 in running shoes. I love Mountain Masochists. But I decided to try these. So far, so good. I am out on mud, gravel and rocky trails but not too steep or technical. They are comfortable. The toe box is big. I have a narrow heel and wider forefoot. I rather them be a little bit too big than too snug in the toebox. I also like they are understated. They have just the right amount of color. I have shopped many times for sneakers and gave up. I did not want to even try them on because I did not want to wear them. Montrail must know this. I wish someone who tell other sneaker manufacturers. Enough.

I love montrail running shoes. I have several pairs and different styles. I bought the luid flex II last year and liked it a lot, except running on really rocky trails, it felt a little bit flimsy. The fluid flex ST is the same comfortably and lightweight shoe , but has some added stability.
