Scarpa Helix Climbing Shoes (For Women)

Closeouts. Scarpa's Helix climbing shoes are an intermediate shoe that's built for comfort. The padded tongue, traditional lacing and a relatively flat profile make it ideal for the gym and the crag.

This shoe runs small if you base it on the US Sizing Chart. I wear a US Size 8 in gym rentals, but it's a European size 41. (My sneaker shoe size is 7.5) When ordering these shoes, it said Size 8 was a 39.5, so I got the 39.5. When I got it, it was way too tight so I had to return it and reorder a 40.5. The new ones fit well, nice and snug as they should be. So, if you're basing it on the European shoe sizes, I would say those run true to size. However, if you are basing it on US sizing, I would go one whole size up.

As for the comfort of the shoe, the heel of the shoe rubs up on the Achilles and is really painful, and can easily cause a blister. My solution was wearing figure skater Bunga pads.

Sierra Trading Post credited me immediately when I made my return, so I was able to order my new shoes even before I mailed my old ones back. Got my new ones in no time.

Despite the flaws, I would say for the price of it, it's a good beginners shoe.

Shoe works great in a climbing gym. A little tighter than expected when they first arrived but am told they will stretch.

No complaints about the shoes. Had to try a few different sizes out before I found the right fit. The size conversion chart was not too helpful in this case.

Great beginner shoe. Size is on point, quality is great, and they look really cute.

I bought these shoes a half-size larger than I thought I needed- so far they have fit nice and snug! My one complaint about the size/fit is that the heel seems to have more room than I would like (that may be remedied if I got a 1/2 size smaller). But anyways they fit great and help with my climbing a ton :)

I am still breaking them in, but so far I am very happy about this purchase.

Got the 37 in these, then had to get the 37.5 in the style with Velcro closure (the laced ones sold out). While I know that climbing shoes are supposed to be snug, curling my toes in these was hurting the balls of my feet when I jump down from about a two-foot high. Not really interested in getting bone injuries, so back they'll go.

Comfortable and well performing climbing shoe. Great all around shoe for someone getting into climbing. Can't beat the price either!

My daughter tried on the newest model of the Scarpa Helix in a local REI. The 39.5 fit perfectly but the price was high. We were delighted to find last year's model online and ordered the 39.5. When we received them, they were WAY too small! We had to return them and will most likely only buy climbing shoes that we try on in persone.
