I have a very narrow foot with a high arch and high instep, and these boots are a perfect fit!! The top is a little stretchy, so it accommodates my foot going into the boot - and my foot is very comfortable once inside. The shaft is the perfect size. They snug up to my leg perfectly, and if I tried, I could probably get some skinny jeans in there too. The zipper on the back is for show - it does not work. They are well made. I expect to get many happy miles out of these boots.

Comfortable and warm, happy feet. Seems to be well constructed. The one complaint about these boots is that they are pretty loud when walking.

I recently moved to Portland so obviously needed some good rain boots. I've worn them almost every day since. They are super comfy and don't make your feet super, super sweaty. I did wear them for a 4 mile walk and I got blisters, but that was my own fault I think. I wear size 9 normally (my running shoes are size 10) and I got the size 9 for these boots and they fit well.

This Cougar rain boot fits the bill as a tall waterproof rain boot (I'm 5'-5" and top of boot is just below kneecap). Neoprene material reduces boot weight so it's not a heavy clod hopper that will get stuck in mud! Leg opening is narrower than some muck boots, which I prefer but it might be an issue for more muscular calves. Zipper is mainly for aesthetics - it hides the neoprene seam but does not open up boot access for taking boot on/off, which answered the waterproof question for me.
