It has everything you need to stay warm, dry and comfortable on the mountain -- Helly Tech Performance® waterproof breathable membrane with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment, 100g lightweight PrimaLoft® Black Eco insulation and H2 Flow technology for optimal airflow and temperature regulation.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by acronymforme from Tampa on Wednesday, December 14, 2016My husband was raving about Helly Hansen. He said that the Scottish mountain search and rescue swear by Helly Hansen. So, to make him jealous, I bought one to find out what all the hype is. Though it is only PrimaLoft black, which is the base level of PrimaLoft available, the jacket is very warm and comfortable. The true test will be on the W.VA mountains when we go skiing over Christmas.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Manders from OH on Tuesday, December 13, 2016This coat has it all plus comfort and style! I've never been warmer and drier in the snow.
It moves well without slipping up and bunch should you fall (no snow on your back or bum!)
I've never pended a HH product, now I'll never go back to anything else.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Tall Annie from Maryland on Tuesday, November 29, 2016I bought this coat because I want to be dry and warm and breathability. I work outdoors year around -- In and out of a vehicle or walking in the nursery rows tagging trees. Sometimes active sometimes passive. Hood on or off... lots of ability to fine tune the fit...
Reviewed by Amy in PA from Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 19, 2016I ordered a couple different jackets from STP and this is the one that I liked best. I did have to order it twice to get the right size because I feel it runs large. I usually wear a small in jackets and the small was super baggy on my. I then ordered an XS and it fits perfectly. I am 5'5 and am an athletic 140lbs .
My favorite features are:
the color (i got it in Princess Purple, which to me looks like a purplish shade of blue),
the fit is good and it I like that it comes down a but in the back to avoid any drafts back there,
the wrist gaiters,
the removable neck thing inside so I can pull that off and wash just that instead of washing the whole jacket as often,
and the overall feel and style of it.
I do wish the front pockets were side entry pockets instead of flap top-entry pockets, but that is my only complaint.
I have not worn this in winter weather yet but it seems like it will be very warm and feels cozy and comfortable.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Rocknut from Montana on Tuesday, November 15, 2016Ski season is just around the corner so I haven't had a chance to test this jacket outdoors. It has all the features I was looking for in a ski jacket: insulated, breathable, waterproof, pockets needed for essentials. longer length to keep the snow out. The only con I can see so far is it will be hard to zip the front if I'm using the hood over my helmet, but I can work around that. Because I have recently lost a lot of weight, ordering online presented a challenge as I wasn't sure which size would fit. I ordered a medium and a large and returned the large. The medium fit as I hoped it would. Loose enough to add layers for really cold weather, but not baggy. Thanks Sierra for the ease in which returns are handled.
