Very nicely made fly rod with fast action. My Montana guide uses only Redington rods for his guests.
Made by Sage fly rod company

I picked up this 6 wt rod as a replacement. You really can't beat the price. It's not as nice as my Sage, but it's also not as costly. Overall, good quality and affordability.

Decided to give this rod a go based on the price. Bought the 3wt. Paired it up with the Zero and wow what an outfit. Yes it's a stiff rod, but it just works! I live in Chile and found the 3wt. to be perfect for smaller streams. Like it so much I went back and bought the 5wt. 10' for working the fast moving pocket water up in the mountains. This is a no brainer and a lovely rod if you know what you're doing (confident in your casting ability).

Purchased one of these from another location - not up to usual Redington quality. Beyond fast action - stiff as a board.

I love Redington, and what it offers to the fly fishing community. Quality, well-performing gear at reasonable (for fly fishing) prices. So, it pains me to write this review.

I have been in the market for a 8'6" four weight and, by the description, this sounded like the ticket. Out of the box it loooks great - nicely finished, high quality components. Then comes the wiggle test. Uh oh, this is one stiff stick. I didn't even have to cast it to determine that. It felt more like a stout 5 weight. I dug out my 8'6" Sage Z Axis to compare; the four weight Redington was stiffer than my five weight Z Axis! I don't need another 5 weight (I already have 9; a Hardy Zenith, two Sage Z Axis, a Loomis Classic, and so on), so this rod was returned to Sierra Trading.

Great quality, too stiff for its line rating.

Beautiful rod and a great value, but not a true 4 weight. In my opinion. :-)
