Mountainsmith Conifer Tent - 5-Person, 3-Season

Closeouts. Rugged, weatherproof construction and an excess of headroom make Mountainsmith's Conifer tent the ultimate luxury family camping tent. Two vestibules give you space for both gear storage and lounging, and a vented rain fly provides excellent protection in windy, foul weather.

We purchased this tent for a 3 week trip "out west". The first night out, we had 40 mph winds with rain. The tent held up without a problem and there was no leakage. Throughout the next several weeks we camped in snow (29 degrees), the desert (98 degrees where we left the fly off as were in a relatively unpopulated campground where others could see in) and at the seashore in California. It took a couple of days to figure out a quick set up which included hooking the upper most clips to the gold poles before raising the tent (we weren't tall enough to reach them without taking off our shoes and standing in the tent if we raised the poles first). And it wasn't necessary to stake out the fly unless the winds were up. This saved having to pound in so many stakes. We also realized it wasn't necessary to unhook all the clips from the poles when taking down the tent. Rather, the poles could easily slide out on any corner. The vestibules were fantastic for keeping muddy boots and packs out of the tent. VERY happy with this purchase!

Very large tent. Plenty of room to stand up inside. One vestibule is huge. It has enough room for 3 people to sit in chairs. A couple minor quirks during setup. The rain fly can only attach one way.

Haven't tested it yet, but first setup in the backyard it looks really good. Ton's of space: I can stand up inside (5'8"), plenty of floor space for a family of 4 plus a dog, pockets along the sides & an attic! Feels like high quality construction. The back "vestibule" is enough to store shoes, but not much else. The front vestibule is big.

Bought this to replace an older tent just in time for a trip to Yosemite. It rained solidly for 24 hours and this kept us dry dry dry! There was water pooled on the tarp under the tent for another couple of days with no leaks through the floor. Couldn't be happier with it. Huge vestibule for gear. For car camping with a family of 4, it's a great tent.

While not at a level anywhere near a Trango or the like, for the price, you cant beat this thing. Im 6'3" and I can stand up with the top of the then just touching my head lightly.
