I was worried about buying synthetic uppers. My feet do not play nice with synthetics. I tried them because of style- they looked somewhat conservative for my casual/business dress job where am on my feet all day, and because of the "breathable" fabric. They are very comfortable, and so far my feet are not throwing a fit because of the synthetic uppers. I don't think they would be my favorite hiking shoe unless it was all flat (no rocks or roots etc). Most of my hiking shoes give a snug feeling just past the rise at the top of my foot. These snug up right across that rise so I cannot cinch up these shoes as tight as all of my other hiking shoes and still be comfortable.

Work outside on the ramp in the airport. These shoes are very comfortable and are waterproof. They are great value for the money compared to more expensive options and I am happy with my purchase.
