Verified Buyer Reviewed by Mountain Man Davey from Northern California on Wednesday, May 17, 2017After purchasing this item, I discovered it to be a bit shorter than I needed, so I re-ordered from Sierra Trading Post for the next size up. The replacement, a size 38 on my what-used-to-be 34 frame, fits well, with lots of room to take it in or let it out as my body adjusts in age. I purchased two belts at the same time, this one and a Carhartt of similar design.
I was looking for a belt that I could wear for long periods of time through the day in casual or outdoor situations, including strapping on extra items normally carried on a belt, such as cell phone, ham radio or similar items. This belt appears to work well for my purposes.
The buckle works well, is solid and easy to use. As a reversible belt, the twist mechanism to change from one side to the other also works well. The finish is good on both sides, but if I have any lack of confidence, it will show up in how long the belt leather lasts in daily use. I base this on how soft and supple the belt is, and this one is a bit stiffer than I like, which means it does not bend as easily. Also, when it arrived, it came in a plastic bag, rolled up fairly tightly for warehouse storage and shipping. So far, the end of the belt with the holes for the buckle has not "relaxed" and is still holding its shape, which leads me to think it will be good for a reasonable length of time, but is may not be as supple as I would hope for, leading to long term wear. I am going to keep this one and use it. Time will tell about my one concern.
I would recommend this belt, especially if one needs a reversible black/brown belt for general use, keeping in mind the concern I noted. For the price from Sierra Trading Post, hard to go wrong.
