Great, lightweight hiker. Good grippy sole as others have mentioned, comfortable right out of the box! I hate heavy boots..these are amazing!!

I've been looking for something waterproof, flexible, and light for spring/summer/early fall day hikes. These are great! Comfortable right out of the box and provide a snug fit. Nice outsole with great traction on rocky terrain. Haven't had a chance to test the "waterproofness" of them yet. Only concern: hope the plastic grommet is sturdy enough.

These boots are awesome. I got them intending their primary use for a 5 day backpacking trip in Grand Canyon National Park. They were perfect, and I really don't think I could have picked a better pair of boots. They are extremely light weight in comparison to other hiking boots I tried on, as the "mesh" looking section of the boot is super thin and breathable. With that said, there was no comprise to water resistance through the thin layer. At least to the extent of creek walking that I was doing in the desert. I was able to comfortably cross small creeks and puddles, confidently stepping in water without worrying about my socks or feet getting wet. There was also ample ankle protection with the soft cushion material making up the upper section of the boot. This could be tightened down on my ankle so it felt very supported, without feeling like it cut off circulation to my feet. Arch support was outstanding and they "broke in" with a few easy day hikes. The rubber role is amazingly grippy. I wore these boots hiking to a rock climbing site before my trip and in the canyon, both of which required a large amount of scrambling around on rocks. The rubber handled it great and I was never questioning my feet, whether I was on rock, gravel, or a deep topsoil horizon.
Overall these boots were great for the desert landscape and handled the rough, rocky terrain better than I thought they would. The only down side is durability in the long run, which I could foresee being an issue due to the limited material support towards the middle of the boot. If I were to change anything about the boots, I would adjust the toe section, wrapping the rubber sole all the way around the toes rather than just having the rubber peep over the middle, toe portion of the boot. This rubber tab started to peel back after wearing them backpacking once and on a handful of pre-trip, mild day hikes around the mid-Atlantic. It is nothing a little shoe-goo can't fix, and I don't think it is a huge issue, as the boots definitely took a beating on the trail. With everything considered, great boots, great buy, amazing support and breath-ability. I would highly recommend these as a warm weather/summer hiking boot and with proper sock choice, they will be great as a 3 season boot.

I found these large overall, but great looking. I was sorry to have to send them back.Gave them 4 stars because of the sizing. They were both long and wide.
