I normally wear a 12-12.5 US, and ordered the 13 per the STP site advice. Well there couldn't have been a better fit anywhere! These shoes are absolutely outstanding. The full lace up system allows you to tailor these to your exact foot dimensions. It took me 3 or 4 tries of adjusting the laces, but I found the perfect fit. I have been a faithful ASOLO hiking/mountaineering boot user for years; I tried the ASOLO Approach shoe and it fell completely short. These SCARPA's were much cheaper than the ASOLO's, but since they were made in Romania, I gave them a shot and I'm very glad I did! The rugged Vibram out-soles are tough and comfortable at the same time. The heel and toe areas are rigid for extra protection and support and the mid section is flexible for an all around excellent fit. I've been wearing them non-stop all day and evening thinking my feet would start to rebel but that has never happened. These shoes are awesome. I truly have finicky feet and these have been the best thing I've put on them in years. Outstanding job SCARPA, and hats off to STP for carrying these. My only issue is that they no longer have my size available anymore.

These Scarpa Approach shoes are very good. They are designed to wrap around the foot, so that the sides of the shoe support and cosset the foot. I was rather pleasantly surprised. I've worn them for several weeks now, and they seem to be up to the task of daily hour and half dog walking. Sturdy vibram soles, so that is a bonus, too, in terms of wear. I like these.

I love these shoes. They are well-made and look at home on the trail or off.

I disagree with STP's sizing advice. I went with my normal size after ordering both my size and a 1/2 size up. If anything, they're a little narrow, but I think they're pretty close to advertised sizing front to back. The only thing I don't like, and the reason for 4/5, is that the tongue is stiff above the toes. They will be less than perfectly comfortable until that breaks in.

Got these a couple of days ago; using them as everyday shoes during the winter (but not in snow). Still breaking them in. These Scarpa's work well so long as you are not expecting a cushioned-running shoe type ride. Lace-to-toe intrudes a little into top of toe box. Sizing is similar to running shoe size; i.e., buy 'em at least 2 sizes larger than dress shoes, but don't expect thick wool socks to fit (I usually buy E-width dress shoes). Like running shoes, these would benefit from a double-eyelet at the top for heel-lock lacing. Construction appears top rate.

These shoes are exceptionally rugged. I have worn one pair for 5 years, only changing laces and insoles. They are perhaps the toughest shoe ever made and are also quite comfortable and very capable for climbing approaches, hiking, or just all-around use. I am finally going to replace these with a new pair. I guess in 5 years I will write another review on them...My experience is the size runs normal, maybe a half size small.

I brought for my father, he is pleased to receive it. Per reviews I searched, I brought the shoes with 1size plus as his normal size, fit well. It's enough for a city walking. A little pity it's not resist to rain, but we know it before purchasing.

This shoe will replace a well worn set of Oboz that I previously used as an approach shoe. The low ankle meets that this shoe wouldn't be appropriate for the many talus slopes in the Rockies, but it will get me to base camp without trouble I imagine. Have only worn these on short hikes so far, so I may update as the season gets in to swing and I can try them on multiway trips. So far I am very pleased with this shoe.

Would love to keep them, but they really run a full size too large. Im sure they would wear well.
    Unfortunately returned.
