Wore these hiking for an entire weekend. Very comfy, and no blisters. (was wearing un-broken in boots) they didn't smell either.

I used these socks as a base layer under my regular running socks in the winter. They were perfect in adding the extra warmth my feet require in Midwest cold.

The Wrightsock's quality padding works unstretched, measured as an 8 inch foot. A larger foot expands the sock past the limits of plush comfort. If you like stretchy socks these are for you.

In case anyone is wondering, this is a model of sock that Wrightsock manufactured a few years ago and decided not to add to their product line. They named the sock SLM which is short for "single layer merino" (you can find the SLM logo in the footbed). This is a single layer, merino wool sock with extra padding within the foot bed.

Wrightsocks became famous for their patented double-layer, a feature that routinely gets top reviews for preventing blisters. This model of "Slim Hiking Sock" on STP does not have this. It is a single layer like other traditional socks. Also, note that most Wrightsocks are made from synthetic materials like polyester, nylon, and lycra, which may be smother, more form-fitting fibers that are less likely to cause blisters. Two exceptions that are currently sold by Wrightsock are the Merino Coolmesh II (their thinnest double layer in wool) and the Merino Stride (a midweight double layer in wool). This model of "Slim Hiking Sock" on STP is made of wool like the other two, but only single layer as mentioned previously.

All in all, this is probably an excellent padded merino wool sock that’s comparable to other top brands you might buy. Just be aware that it doesn’t come with the double layer and synthetic fiber blend which have made Wrightsocks famous for preventing blisters.
