The gauntlet comes up high enough to stay over jacket cuffs, and the mitts are quite warm, even in single digit weather.

These are very nicely made with nice little extras; strap across the back of wrist to snug down, then there’s an extended cuff with a draw cord to snug over your sleeve, and a security keeper-cord for your wrist so that you can remove the mittens and not drop them. The palm pad is grippy to hold onto trekking poles and the black fabric has a subtle decorative print that gives them a touch of style. I like that they are insulating but not bulky like ski mittens. And very water resistant!

These were 1 of 4 that I ordered. I ended up returning these and went with a glove instead. Only reason for 4 out of 5 is that of all the gloves I ordered these seemed the thinnest. I have naturally cold hands and had planned on wearing a liner glove with.
Otherwise, fit was good. I have small hands and often go for a XS, but with a liner these would of been good.
