This is a solid, well constructed shoe. The bison leather is thick and well finished, and the stitching is straight and uniform. The Vibram soles feel stiff and look like they should wear pretty well. As for sizing, they definitely run large compared to other brands ... in Allen Edmonds, I wear a 11.5 EEE. In Dunham or New Balance, I'll go with a 11.5 XW (4E). These shoes fit well in a 11 EE.

Wear 10 1/2, read reviews, ordered 10, still way too big.

Plus shipping and return shipping fee much higher than other companies

Better off to go to another retailer for me in the future...oh well

Shoes arrived. Said to order 1/2 size smaller. Did and they fit beautifully! Well made too!

the quality and construction of these shoes are outstanding. I've use a lot of boating style shoes over the years. They tend to be light and comfortable, but I would never walk long distances with them because of the thin soles. The Chippewa shoes have a full Vibrum sole which seems to laugh at rough walking conditions. The material the shoes are made of appear stout. The stitching is accurate and neat. Break in takes a bit longer with the Bison and the Vibrum sole. my shoes ran a half size too large. STP made a no hassle return, and I'm happy with the product.

Very high quality but runs at least a full size too large. I consistently wear a 9.5 and ordered a 9 as others warned they run large. I was still swimming in 9 so I returned them. Considered trying an 8.5 but didn't want to end up paying return shipping twice with nothing to show. As a rule I don't order anything with iffy sizing because of that. Otherwise, they are attractive, solid, and well made but very heavy. May have given it 5 stars if it were not for the sizing issue.

I really want to like these shoes. The look, materials, and craftsmanship are exceptional. However, I question the use of a heavy Vibram sole for this type of shoe. It would be fine with a lace-up shoe or work boot, but on a slip-on loafer, it's a bit too stiff. As a result, there is more heel slip than one would typically experience. I am trying to work them in and hopefully, they will get better with time and wear.

These loafers do run large. If you compare them to most shoes, Hush Puppies, Rockport, etc. order a size smaller. I usually wear an 8 1/2 wide in most brands, but in this shoe I wear a 7 1/2 wide. The sizing is to Allen Edmonds lasts which also run large. Very well constructed and a little heavy compared to most loafers. Minimal break in period (less than 1 day's wear) resulting in a very comfortable shoe. Recommended

Quality throughout. This is a heavy built loafer. True to size with room for rag wool socks in the Fall. Would be pretty roomy if worn with regular weight socks. Would buy again.

These seem to be a well made and attractive show but I had to return the first two pair because they were much larger than my known shoe size. STP was great as always with the returns. Get them at least a full size smaller than you usually take.

I had to return them, too large. I'm a straight size 8, these felt like an 8 1/2, being a loafer would not work. You do not have a 7 1/2 so could not exchange. They are a great looking shoe and made in USA.
