Quality hiking shoes (materials and construction) with great heel and arch support and ample space in the toe box for metetarsal spread. Comfortable first wear requiring minimal break in. Waterproof as a bonus. Versatile color won't show the terrain you've traversed. True to size. I wish I had these 40 years ago when I started hiking, my feet are in much better shoes now. Thank you STP aNd Zamberlan for this great pair of shoes

These are well made shoes, but they run big. I usually wear a 6.5 and these were too big, thus the 4 star rating.

I really liked the look of these, but had trouble when I put them on. They are wide at the top - not a real problem for me as I tend to have a wide foot - but the heel was smaller. Not narrow exactly, but it rubbed against the achilles tendon on one of my feet. I had to return them, alas.

We are planning a trip to Scotland where it is very wet so I needed a pair of waterproof walking shoes. I wanted something light and not real structured since I would be wearing these all day, everyday. These shoes are perfect. My first wearing was to a festival, walking on concrete for 6 hours. I haven't tested the waterproofing yet. I followed the suggestion that they run a little small so I ordered a 1/2 size larger than normal. The instep is in the correct place, the heel doesn't slip and even though they are Gore-Tex, my feet didn't get hot walking inside a heated building. I rate them more as a walking shoe than a hiking shoe but they would be fine for light trails. I am very pleased with these shoes.
