After an overnight work trip where on both flights the only overhead space for my rolling carry-on was behind me, I decided I needed something that could fit under the seat in front of me and still leave room for my personal item (a medium sized crossbody purse). The challenge was to find something work appropriate that would also fit and allow easy access to my 15.6" laptop in a slim case. While I haven't traveled with the bag yet I do think it fits the bill -- by using packing cubes for my clothes and etc. I'll be able to slip the laptop in vertically and still zip the duffel closed. Since I don't expect to pack the duffel to capacity the "squish-ability" of the bag should allow me to shove it under the seat in front of me.

There are two external pockets -- one on each wide side wall, between the strap webbing. On the inside there is one zip pocket on one side wall and on the other side wall three slip pockets with hook and loop closure. The reinforced bottom is key because it provides structure for the bag which helps in the distribution of the contents inside. Think about what happens when you pick up a loaded plastic shopping bag -- everything just moves to the center.

The product description indicates there's a padded laptop sleeve, but there isn't. There is one in the Sherpa Tote, however.

The navy is a great alternative to black and I like the subtle sheen to the ballistic nylon. Would buy again.

I got this as part of a set with the tote bag. I would have liked this to be a bit larger, but it's okay. I would say it is closer to a gym bag than a travel bag. I'm debating whether to get another one.
