Deuter ACT Lite 50L + 10 Backpack

Closeouts. Light in weight but heavily laden with technical features, Deuter's ACT Lite 50L + 10 backpack uses a profiled X-frame for torsional rigidity, hollow chamber foam padding for breathability, and adjusts easily to most back lengths.

Just used this pack for the first time. I can be fitted for a variety of torsos.
It is very comfortable and distributes weight well. Contrary to some opinions, I found the straps to be very strong and when used with some care, they should last just fine.
It has plenty of lashing points and loops for all the extras.

All in all, a very good product and lightweight

    Two cons:
pack top does not detach for use as a daypack-not a big deal for me

small outer stuff pocket does not expand much-fits a jacket and other small accessories but not my waders or other larger/bulky items.

A small sacrifice for the savings!

Well thought out design and light weight, but includes many features. It's not just a boring rucksack. The padding design seems to be a good idea. I haven't had it in hot weather yet to test the padding design out, but the season is changing. I love the simplicity of this pack and many features = no extra weight!

I included pics of the expansion from 50 to 60. In the expanded pictures I didn't even fill it all the way. This thing deffinatly could be good for 7 day trips not just weekends.
    • Best Uses: Multi-day to Overnighters
    • Cons: Lashing Holds
    • Pros: Back padding is great, ExpansionCompression, German engineering, Light Weight, Simple design

Great pack for price, simple features (no too cumbersome), weight, and German innovation. Check out the Deuter website for all features explained in detail.

To address the #2 in the above comment regarding the pad/tent, tent poles can be stored inside with the sleeping bag separator partially unzipped, allowing the poles to run full length inside the bag. As far as the pad/tent, there are lashing holds on top to tie the pad/tent down onto. Problem solved.

Great pack for one who is looking to have a framed pack, save weight, but still want some features. for 3.5 lbs and 60L, wow. Better than a ruck sack with no framing. Only one request, that the red was not the only choice. Other than that, no complaints.

I really like this pack. To keep it short - adjustable shoulders are great because I flucuate shoulder size due to injury. Disadventages - 1) Back support that is adjustable begins to hurt after a few days of hiking and can almost become unbearable. 2) Straps are not long enough on the sides to fit a pad/tent. The front straps could also benefit from being longer as it again limits the amount of exterior holding space. 3) For these reasons I recommend using this pack only for weekend trips, not weeks or months at a time.
