I bought three jackets that were about the same price, men's and women's, from OR, RAB, and Columbia. This jacket hit a sweet spot for me. It didn't have a nice shapeable wire in the visor like both the Columbia and the RAB jacket had. But it fit over my helmet and hat easily, it had nice, comfy wrist cuffs, waterproof hood/shoulders, ample pockets, a nice roomy fit in the shoulders, a good length for me (I'm 5'6"), a nice color combo, and it was a bit thicker than the RAB, though it was less cushy inside than the Columbia men's jacket and did not include a powder skirt. The additional light mini-hood that you can fold away into its own pocket was a nice feature just in case it gets really rainy or cold.

It has nice, easy-to-use side ventilation zips that kept me cool and comfortable on a 50-degree skiing day but kept me warm when I zipped them up and battled the wind chill on the lift ride up. I appreciated the front breast pocket for a phone or my electronic ski pass. The side zip pockets were well placed and roomy. The inside zip pocket kept my money and keys safe.

This jacket fit me better than the RAB women's jacket, and it was not as huge as a Columbia men's medium. I got women's large, and I found that it was just the right size--big enough to layer but small enough to wear alone with just a midlayer underneath on a warm day.

Everyone in my family also picked this out from a group of four jackets total. It's nice looking and functional, and it's worth the price I paid for it. It has all the features I truly need, and although I was hoping for a slightly cushier inside, this one was cushier than the RAB and fit the bill, especially for those of us who layer.

So far, I don't have any issues with this, though I've only worn it three times on big outings--one an all-day ski extravaganza, and I have to say it beat my old skiing solution--a hard shell over a down sweater. These new down jackets are too delicate to bang up while carrying skis and really working out, and it was softer, more flexible, and more comfortable than a hard shell over layers.

I'm sold! I'm glad I bought this jacket and would make the same choice again.

I ordered the pink color in XL. I really like the features of this jacket, with the zipped pockets, hood, and vents. (Lord knows I get hot...ahem...) In reality, it's a tad too big for me (I'm 5'7", 145 lbs, and relatively fit person). It also isn't so different from the jacket I've been wearing that I'm going to keep it. I was hoping that it had more lining in it, but I am anti-fleece, so it's not always easy to find something. I have been wearing a men's medium jacket by Merrell and for the money, I'm just going to stick to that. Love the pink, though.

Picked this out in blue as my Christmas Present! It's great. There is a zip-off inner hood which is great when the full hood is not necessary (just enough to keep a little heat in on a chilly hike). Inner cuffs are cozy. Lots of zippers (in good places). Runs true to size.

Super quality- unfortunately have put to the test with an early Wisconsin winter. I ordered a size up bc of availability which probably wasn't necessary but allows for a fleece under AND a down vest. Wisconsin.

I've been looking for a black hooded soft shell that wasn't frumpy or cheap and fits just right... I finally found it! This jacket is everything I'd been looking for and more. Its cut for a woman to show your curves but still give plenty of comfortable space to move around in. The zippers at the pockets are flexible and dont create that awkward stiff bend when you sit down with the jacket on. Warm enough for chilly days in the Pacific Northwest and waterproof to boot! I have a smaller frame with a larger bust (34DD) and the medium fits me perfectly- doesnt flatten my chest but still fits well and trim. Love it!

A fabulous soft shell that repels rain, has a nice adjustable hood and sleeves that fit even if you have longer arms. It's also wind-proof for chilly NY days. The cozy fleece lining is an added bonus. I am 5'6" and 117 lbs and the small fit perfectly. What I like best about it is that it's not a boxy fit, it has a nice streamlined look.

I bought this jacket for Spring skiing. I LOVE the "waterproofing" on the critical areas, the breathability of the rest, and oh, the pit zips!!!! My only regret is that I did not order a size up for layering. It is true to size--but a bit snug for a down vest. The other critical feature for me is the breast pocket for the phone.

This jacket fits nicely--long enough rear hem for bike commuting, long enough arms for a gangly, size-small lady--and feels well-made. The fleece backing is soft and warm, but still breathable, and I stayed dry all day during a rainy, windy Chicago storm. Winter will be the real test, but I'm hopeful. Also, I ordered the jacket and received it two days later thanks to Sierra's quick turnaround and shipping. Thanks!

I bought this because I was looking for a soft shell jacket for xc skiing that was 1)colorful 2) had a hood 3) in my size (XL) and 4) had longer cuffs with thumbholes. I was soooo excited that I found something with all that criteria and then I tried the jacket on... no thumb holes. I called STP and they checked all the other jackets and NO THUMB HOLES. They had to change the description :( I still don't know if I'll keep it, but other than that, the jacket seems well made. The only complaint I have is that it is not that roomy for ladies with hips- I kind of have to pull the jacket up a bit to zip it, but the rest of it has plenty of room. Come on, we're not all built like men!

The Alibi in XL in blue didn't fit or suit me so I returned it, but I liked the jacket so much that when it became available in a L and pink, with a Flyer deal etc, I couldn't resist.
