I own many Black Diamond items for camping. This 160 Lumen light would have worked for me as a light-weight camping light. However, the internal lock feature was not functioning when I received it. All the actual light display features worked perfectly, but I was not able to securely turn the light off. I returned the product for a refund. Thank you.

Got this for my husband after I purchased a different Black Diamond headlamp for myself, who kept commenting on how great of a light it is. He likes the waterproof battery enclosure on this, as well as how bright it is, even in full daylight. I think this will be his new favorite headlamp. He's been a miner over 7 years, underground 5 of that, so he is choosy about his headlamps.

This light is very bright and very versatile with all the multitudes of different settings. It does take a little time to decipher all the different ways you have to go through all the different modes - but not long. The nicest feature is how you can dim it down to just what you want by holding the button down, then get it back to full brightness just by tapping on the side. It casts a wider spot beam than my other headlamp, which is better for walking and hiking at night. All-in-all an excellent light.

I used this model on my AT thru-hike and bought one for my brother too. Dependable.
    Slightly heavy for backpacking.

Nice light, worked out well so far. Mostly got for the water resistance and not sure how that will hold up over time

Let me start off by saying... this is a really awesome light. However, I think there's way too many features to really take advantage of in the field. It loads up on the features so much that I think it's overly complicated. Because it takes 4 aaa batteries, it's also bulky (in comparison to less featured headlamps). I'll still keep this for the price paid, but it's NOT my go-to preferred light to pack. I much prefer the Black Diamond Cosmo (at about $10 less) to carry. The Cosmo isn't as bright, but it's also less gimmicky. To each their own...

super bright White light in the dark. We used the red light for night beach patrol for turtles, a little stronger would have been better.
