We are hiking in Scotland and England this summer and I bought these for the trip. We plan to only have carry-on bags for 3 weeks. These are fast drying so I can wash them out at night and have them ready in the morning! The material while light weight is very strong to prevent tears and holes. Plus they are cute enough to wear out to the pub at night!
These are great for hiking! They are a tad loose while still looking fashionable!

The other reviews are right that these are a large size 8, but they're cut perfectly for me, and roomy enough for thermals underneath. I have some pants that are 8s (nydj, et. al.) and some that are size 10. These pants are such nice fabric, comfortable enough to take a walk, i.e., not tight legs, but nice enough to wear to my casual workplace. I washed and dried them before wearing and they were great. It says 32 inseam but I usually wear 30" and these are just a little baggy at the boot line, but fit so nicely. I bought another pair I like them so much. I wish they had other colors.

Great feel, nice quality construction, but definitely cut on the large side : I'd suggest ordering 2 sizes down to get a decent fit. Short rise too.

I am sometimes a 12, sometimes a 10. True to the note that they run small, I ordered a size up (12) and these pants fit perfectly. Good length and comfortable around the waist. Pockets are a plus. I wear these for work as a school nurse and I have full range of movement with out worrying that they are gap in inappropriate places!

Too bad the waist is so big. I wish these pants (and most others) had an adjustment for the waist! some of us gall are are an hourglass and some a cylinder. Seems most pants are cut for cylinders.

Finally, a pair of pants that fit someone with hips and a booty. I would give them 5 stars except they are too large in the waist. Love the pockets, most hiking pants don't have as many or as roomy unless they are convertibles.

These seem to be nice pants, but they didn't fit my hips. I'm 5'7" and 160lbs with large hips, and I typically wear a 10 or 12. I ordered these in both sizes. The 10 was not going to fit in any way. I could get the 12 on, but they were too tight in the hips. Nice pants but not the cut for me.

I read the reviews and warnings that these ran large but didn't head others' advice to order a smaller size... until they arrived and I had to send them back for a smaller size. At a size 14, I never have to go smaller. When the 12s arrived, they fit perfectly, even leaving enough room that if I weren't using these for hiking, I could go another size down, but I want to be able to bend and squat without having to worry about blowing a seam. I love the durability of these pants while still being relatively lightweight. I'm not talking "minimalist hiking weigh every ounce" lightweight, I'm talking "[...], it's 80 degrees outside and I don't have any sweat spots" lightweight. Very glad I purchased these pants.

Other than the odd sizing the pants are fantastic. I normally wear a 14 in pants depending on brand. I also bought the shorts. I read the reviews and saw the need to size down. I purchased the 12 and found them loose and decided to return them for a 10. Perfect fit. The pants like the shorts are extremely well made and durable. They do make a crispy sound until washed a number of times. I love them so much that if they had other colors I would have a pair in each!

Ok ladies, here is your answer to a pair of pants that will fit a women with a backside! I put these pants and was so excited that they actually fit my backside. Now that being said, my backside is not unusually large just standard sized, just not flat. These have become my "go to" pants!! Love, Love, Love them!
