DaKine Poacher 45L Backpack

Closeouts. DaKine's Poacher backpack is a great choice for long ski tours, summer overnighters and ski mountaineering excursions. A retractable cable lets you carry skis diagonally and it has top and back panel access to the main compartment.

Very sturdy, lots of bells and whistles. Easy to organize av. gear and easy to access pockets. a little small for a overnight but you have a ultra small down bag it could work. used this pack 5 days and looking forward to using it for years.

Haven't had a chance to use it much yet yet but looks great and the multiple access points make for exceptional design!!

Had an older version of this pack while ski patrolling, so when I needed a new pack because my old one was stolen, I got this one. Great features, largish ski pack for hauling all the essentials into the backcountry. The aluminum frame on the new version is a little heavy, but the pack can really haul a load! So far its taken quite a beating from me as I work as an arborist now and use it to tote my climbing gear around. It gets tossed in and out of the truck, carried through all sorts of brush and blackberries, hauled in the back of the truck in all sorts of weather and its still fights off the rain and snow.

This was recommended for a Ski Patrol job. Seems perfects, lots of compartments for the gear I will need to carry.

I used this pack for a multi day splitboard trip and was perfect for what I needed. The pack is very spacious inside which fit my mummybag, food for multiple days, jet boil, extra layers, full tent, and much more all in the main section. The separate snow tool compartment is awesome and very easy to access via zippers on the back. There are tons of straps to cinch everything down tight and compress the bag. Very stable with board strapped on as well. It was a great purchase at a great price for a large pack that's most suitable for overnight trips or even long day trips with all the room yet can cinch down when not fully loaded.

I bought this pack specifically to use in Summit CO Colorado, namely to carry my snowboard and boots to the bus stop and then from the bus stop at the mountain to the lockers. I'm a big guy, 6'4" and 250 lbs. so my board and boots are both pretty big. The boots fit in the main compartment with enough room left to carry several extra pieces of gear. The helmet net on top is a nice feature. The pack is big enough to accommodate my wide board. The only small drawback was I had to take internal frame out to make it fit in the locker.
