I fretted about spending even this much on a blanket, but after looking at the Johnstons of Elgin website, I decided to try it because of its closeout price...way, way less than retail. The blanket is just scrumptious...it is draped over my lap right now as I type this on a rainy, cold Pacific Northwest day. The colors are beautiful, the cashmere is dense and soft. I love it

This is the high quality Scottish cashmere I expect from Johnstns of Elgin. The cheaper cashmere throws I have seen elsewhere do not come close to the quality. The throw I bought was labeled red/green, but is really a beautiful burgundy with a greenish tan with thin red lines and wider violet lines. A real luxury.

Just awesome in every way. I was impressed by the weight of them. But a lady made a statement in one of the reviews that a certain color was better. I bought 2 different colors and you can tell the difference in weight. Nothing that alarmed me, but the purple one was heavier than the brown. But I use them more for decor , it's Texas folks.

I bought both the blue and the red blanket to compare. The blue is a more muted color, has a nubbier texture and a different weave -looks more elegant/contemporary. However, it really does not feel quite as soft and silky as does the red blanket.. In person, the red is far more beautiful than the photo suggests...rich, vibrant, soft, and just an invitation to snuggle. It's a keeper!

I ordered this hoping it would be like a giant Johnston's of Elgin cashmere scarf. I have half a dozen of their beautiful, soft, luxurious scarfs and love them. However, the blanket was kind of coarse and mildly scratchy. I had to check the label multiple times to be sure it said 100% cashmere, as it felt at best maybe 50%. Super disappointed, and returned it. I got the blue herringbone, if that makes a difference.
