This is a terrific jacket! It does what it claims it will do. Definitely windproof and waterproof. Materials are excellent. Close fit. Great price.

great jacket, comfortable, Especially like the fact that the sleeves are long enough which has been a problem for me in the past. Would like ;to see this product line offered in US retail stores.

Received this jacket today. It is a beautiful, high quality, jacket with excellent materials and great YKK zippers. I wanted this jacket to use as an outer shell and be loose enough to wear a wool or down sweater underneath. I am 5'-11", slender, 165# and I ordered an XL. The sleeves are a bit long, and the overall torso a bit big. I may have been able to get by with a Large even as an outer shell, but the XL is OK too. The material is stretchy, so if you want it snug and tight fitting, I would say order on size. Otherwise, one size up.

The sizing on this jacket is a bit different. Understand that this is a European jacket designed jacket and typically runs on the small side. I'm 6'1" 35.5 in sleeves and 46" chest, 36" waist. Based on the size chart I ordered the XXL - the body was too long. The sleeves were too long, but the fit in the chest and arm holes were good. I then ordered the XL and the fit was perfect in the body and sleeves, but a bit tight in the chest and arm hole. Sending back the XXL and probably the XL. The XL fits with a t-shirt, or regular shirt, but definitely not a sweater, or sweatshirt. Maybe if I lose 15lbs the XL will fit - LOL! Jack Wolfskin is a great product. Big seller in Europe. I purchased three other jackets for my daughter and wife and they fit perfectly!

Years ago I bought a Marmot soft shell jacket on STP. It quickly became my go to jacket. It was hands down the best soft shell jacket I've owned (and I've owned a bunch let me tell you). Like an idiot, I decided to donate it to Goodwill about 6 months ago. What was I thinking?? Since then, I've been searching for a worthy replacement. I'd settled on a Patagonia Adze. Patagonia is no doubt quality, but for all its hype that jacket just was not warm. Cold, meet the Jack Wolfskin Timberline. I took a huge gamble on this jacket knowing absolutely nothing about the brand. Frankly I liked the look and the reviews were enough to persuade me to at least give it a chance. This jacket exceeds my expectations in just about every way. The craftmanship is as good as any I've seen. The microfleece interior lining is actually warm (what a concept) and the fit for me could not be more perfect (I am 5'11'', 185 lbs and the Large fits me like a custom made suit). Exterior phone pocket is a big plus for me. Branding is very subtle which I prefer. Windstopper is amazing. The only quirk about this jacket is the zipper enclosure is reversed (but I've already become used to it after a few outings). Zippers on the one I received are black, not grey like in the pictures above which I actually much rather prefer this. This jacket will not be headed to Goodwill any time soon and will be me go to jacket for years to come. I'm now very much impressed with Jack Wolfskin jackets.

Well made and fits great! The sleeves have Velcro around the wrist that helps keep them from going over you hand and feeling to long. The only issue I had was the sizing. I am 5'9 165lbs and I read the reviews and a lot of people my size recommended the large. I ordered the large but it was tight under the arms and it was uncomfortable when wearing a long sleeve shirt. I exchanged for an XL and it fits great. There is plenty of room to wear a sweatshirt or a nice base layer under the jacket.

I love Jack Wolfskin. This jacket fits very well and is very comfortable. There are more than enough pockets to carry items. The quaity is good and most important, it keeps you warm without being too bulky.

Nice well made trim fitting stretchy soft shell jacket. The material is described as 3 layers, an outer stretchy polyester layer, a waterproof windproof breathable membrane and a fleece interior, all bonded together. It appears to be snug fitting, more than I wanted in my middle age. It is flattering if you are fit and trim. I am 5' 11" and 182 pounds, usually wear a 42 Reg sport coat. This in size Large fit snug but allowed lots of movement and fit well in the shoulders. Trim around the waist. The arms are very long, almost like it was for a tall, they have a velcro type thing to seal them up. Nice wind guard on zipper. The zipped neck fit well on my size 16. The zipper is on the other side per the European style. In addition to the outer pockets there is on the inside right a long sort of pocket from the lining. that could be useful. I wanted to like it a lot and almost kept it but decided I would need to get the sleeves shortened so returned it and will keep looking for something to replace my 9 year old BackCountry softshell that is past its prime.

This is a very well-made soft shell jacket. The fit is true to size and it looks great. I am 5-8, 33W, and 160 lbs and the medium size fits me very well. It might be a little bit snugger than a US medium but if it is, it's not by much at all. I could - and have - worn a fleece jacket underneath it. Jack Wolfskin is a super brand and I am glad that STP has a good selection of their merchandise.
