it is light weight but warms like a heavy down jacket! Best jacket for the money!

I was really looking forward to this jacket as a warm layer since a friend of mine was wearing one on our most recent backpacking trip. She was toasty-warm, sitting still around our damp, chilly campsite while I froze in my heaviest smartwool base layer and rain jacket. In fact, this is the piece that originally brought me to STP, since MH stopped making this particular item. Unfortunately, this was the only color they had left, and I didn't bat an eye, because my friends' thermostatic jacket was yellow I thought whatever it looked like on the screen, it was probably fine.

No. This color is not even wearable. This color hurts my eyes. I just can't pay this much money for a color that is blindingly ugly.
When I put this on in front of my S.O his comments were "did you know it was going to be that color?" and "as long as you don't wear it in public, I think you should keep it."

I was hoping for an off-white. The sea salt was just too white for me. That said I loved the jacket. Will be looking for it next year when new discontinued colors arrive. Fits as expected for a medium.

This jacket is really sweet only wish is was a little warmer. Will use it for platform tennis so there is room to layer. A great buy at Sierra trading post!!

This is a great jacket - warm and lightweight without bulk. Besides casual wear, it works well for hiking and for late fall or early spring golf.

This jacket is nice as an alternative to a sweater on cold mornings before you get the fire started. I have also used it as a top layer over a warm base layer for winter runs or a skate ski. It fits the bill for being light weight and warm, however the stitching is coming undone everywhere after just a week of owning this jacket. In my opinion it is sized very large, I ordered an extra small and found it to be on the big side.

This in a great layering piece for cold weather. I took it to Minnesota on a dogsledding expedition and it was just what I need to throw on as an extra layer for longer stops and getting out of my bag in the morning. The warmth to weight ratio is excellent. I've also used it as an outer layer hiking in PA during fall and early winter.

I would have given it five stars, but the outer stitching is somewhat long so some of the fill can pull through.

I'm 5'4" about 120 and got a M. It fits over a tight base layer and a fleece quite comfortably.

Great layer piece. I use it for fall/winter hiking and plan to use it for hockey games on the lake...if winter ever comes. Great arm mobility without jacket hiking up over stomach.

I don't like bulky clothing , so this jackets is perfect! Very warm without the bulk. True to size. Only thing that could make it better would be a hood! Love Sierra Trading!!
