I purchased a pair of men’s size 14 on Friday, April 20, 2018. I tried on a number of styles and pairs of each size to guarantee a matched pair. I wore them all over the store, and walked up and down the ramps and stairs. I planned on the Neutrons, and purchased the Horizon. I used them for the first time yesterday for a 4.5 mike round trip hike in NJ at Mount Tammany. The climb/hike is a constant 30°-45° uphill ascent (Red Dot Trail) for 1.6 Miles over rocks and some boulders, the decent (Blue Dot Trail) is still rocky, but mainly 20° dirt, mud, and more of a hike. The boots performed well, but I noticed a pretty significant heal rub. I only wore a single layer of Socks, Merino Wool, medium thickness. Upon returning home following a 8 Hour day with driving, a removed my socks and found bare skin on both heals. The boots have vertical stitching dead center running vertically right up the heal. This resulted in a zipper effect type rub in a bad location. I wanted to attach pictures. I’m not sure I can add any.

As far as waterproof and lasting long, these are a good boot. I've got at least 2500 miles of rocky roads and trails on them and they still have tread. The only reason I don't give them a 5 is because they were extremely narrow and caused me some foot problems over time. Fortunately, I have a shoe stretcher from previous boots and was able to keep stretching them until the pain stopped. I have narrow feet to begin with, so if you don't, you might wish to shy away from these. I've recently purchased the "wide" version and they seem more to normal width.

Got these boots last year and are still in great shape. Just recently finished an 8 day trip in the BWCA. We had rain 4 of the 8 days. Feet stayed dry the entire trip. Also, at the end my feet felt good, no blisters. We were on the move and did about 40 portages so they got plenty of wear and they performed.

Great boot for walking, traction can't be beat even on slick moss.

Solid boot for the price and we'll made. My only issue was a slight bite at the toe on one boot..seems to be working into shape though. I would buy this boot again.

I was very happy with my last pair of Asolo boots, so I expected a similar quality & fit. I ordered the wide. The fit was terrible. They hurt my feet just standing in them without even walkig. Footbed was hard. Far too narrow, especially in the middle. I normally wear a D width and occasionally an E. Overall not impressed with these boots, compared to my old Asolos. Exchange is also a bit of a pain. Still waiti g for my refund and had to pay for the shipping.

These Asolo Horizon 1 Gore-tex boots are good looking, light weight, and fit well...and they are durable, and waterproof. The proof is always in the wearing and I have been wearing these everyday for 2 weeks at 3miles at a time.

Immediately after putting these boots on, I knew they were not for me. The largest down side is the almost pointed toe box. The boots are sufficiently wide at the base of the toes, but that narrows quickly. This shape just did not fit my feet. I am a size 10 and ordered the same. I have normal width feet with somewhat high arches. For this reason, the flat, almost board-like insole was not comfortable for my feet. I returned the boots. I have since gone to my local gear shop and spent 2 hours trying on various boots. I think I have found my brand with Lowa. They make several lower volume boots that seem to lock my foot in place comfortably.
