Only worn these once, on a spin cycle at the gym. However, they were comfortable for the 45 min ride.

Bought these shorts for my wife. She has been wearing Pearl Pro's for years and said these were the best ones ever.
Super fit, well made, excellant padding.

My thighs are slim, and these are snug. The shammy is great and the fabric super comfortable.

I just started biking and don't have a lot to compare these to, but these shorts are incredibly comfortable and breathe well. They are more comfortable than my other pair of Pearl Izumi Sugar cycling shorts, although I don't find those uncomfortable by any means. The PRO Leader shorts are a little smaller in the waist than the Sugar shorts, but not significantly. (I'm 5'8" and 130 lbs and have a medium in both.) These shorts hit a few inches above my knee and don't ride up, even though they don't have the grippers in the hems. But they don't feel tight or restricting; you really don't even notice them. The white designs on the sides are also very striking and make the shorts look great. Very happy with these - I will probably buy a second pair.

I'm an avid cyclist riding 100+ miles a week but am curvy and the newer cycling short fabrics seem to be moving towards being more sheer. I do not want ANY show through on my shorts especially over my curvier parts and these shorts deliver even on the patterned side panels yet still feel breathable. The patterned side panel is more visually "catchy" than I thought it would be. (Not a big deal, but I tend to like my shorts not to emphasize my curvy hips.) They've got a very comfortable chamois (tested on a 50 mile ride-no pressure issues), the waist fits nicely (not too high, not too low so everything stays covered and the waist does not ride down when going into aero position). Be sure to hand wash them and NEVER dry them in the dryer. My Pearl Izumi shorts last for years when laundered like this. These fit as expected. I'm a curvy size 10 in regular clothing and ordered the large. These are longer shorts. I'm 5'5" and they hit the tops of my knees. The only negative is a super itchy tag which I promptly removed.

I like everything about these shorts except the stiching. The seam through the crotch isn't flat, it's sewn right sides together then sewn over to one side, so it's a ridge right where you don't want it. On a longer bike ride (50m) it rubbed me raw at the front. It's a shame because the rest of the pad is super comfy, the leg openings aren't tight and grippy and the material offers the right amount of compression.

Rating: 4-4.5 stars. Fit is very good, snug. I am just over 5 ft 5in, 124 lbs, with a smaller than average waist and curvy hips-I bought a small. Waist is a little snug for road riding but I folded it down in front during rides. I assume they will stretch out over time. Have worn them on 2 rides. The pad is above-average comfortable, legs feel and fit great including distally (wide, non-elastic band), fanny is tighter than expected but looks fine and is expected to stretch a bit. However, the pad stitching under my "sitz bones" caused a little raw feeling after 35 miles of riding (we did 50 mi that day). I was fine the next day but I would not have wanted to wear them for a longer ride. We'll see how subsequent rides go. Color patch is pretty but a little flashy for me- have had several compliments.

Pearl Izumi's products are always first rate. They are well made and do not rub or chafe even while long distance cycling. The fit is true to size and the product holds up to years of wear.
