These shoes are solid and reliable. They're comfortable for a while, but then my feet get really hot in them, which is counterintuitive since they're "open" shoes. They're also kind of heavy, but every pair of Chacos I've ever owned are. I like them, but I don't love them.

Great show for short trails and river trips. Handles the water well and structured enough to handle the standard fords without changing.
I thought they ran just a little large.

I really like these for the summer heat. They still feel like a sneaker but much cooler. The only problem I had from my last pair wa the elastic support and lacing gives out before the shoe does.

Just what i wanted. Don't know about the lacing system, easy to slip on so i don't readjust anyway, but does look like it could be a problem if it was used a lot, and in the wrong way ( lacing system).

The OutCross shoe was presented as a hiking shoe, but it doesn't quite cover even the basics of a hiking shoe. The lace up system literally sucks, it can not be relied on except to eventually fail. The mesh toe, tongue and heel should have been included on the sides of the shoes instead of giving the impression with nylon straps that the shoe is solid and hike worthy. You can't tell from the photos that the blue and gray straps are the only sides these shoes have. If you hike, you are keenly aware of the possibility for small rocks/pebbles to bounce around while climbing or simply walking on mountain trails or mountain sides. They also boast amphibious design? Nonsense, imagine stepping into the lake or river or even the ocean with a pair of shoes that clearly allow anything into the sides and then under your feet! You'd be better off without shoes! The only reason I did not give these shoes a single star is because they make a great casual or dock shoe, if you wear dark socks they look excellent and are quite comfortable for everyday walking. They are horrible amphibious shoes and horrible hiking shoes, but they are perfect for an airy, breathable summer shoe with pants or shorts. I would NOT buy these again, but these are the only shoes from CHACO that have been such a disappointment.

Fit well. Looks decent. Well made. I found the lace toggle a little difficult to master. Really good value for the money.

These sandals will be going back. The description referred to them as shoes and they are actually sandals. My husband ordered them believing they were regular shoes. The annoyance and expense of returning them does not make me happy. If sandals are what you want , they look comfortable and supportive.

I am giving these shoes to my husband for a Christmas present. They appear to be a solid good quality water shoe.

I was a little surprised to find that these Chaco Outcross Lace shoes are actually sandals, open to the air through mesh and even open areas in the design. But, as a coastal Californian, I can use these for the warm times of the year. They are comfortable, fit well, and look to be well made. I was a little concerned that the orange webbing straps shown on the web site would be glaring but in reality they are muted. I can wear these for every day casual wear, not just athletic or water activities.
