These shoes are well made and are water proof. They are running 1/2 to 1 size bigger. The come with an extra sole insert that will reduce the size by 1/2 so they fit more to the true size.

It could of been great. But the right pair was defective. It was so bent out of shape and when walking the hard fabric would bend down and stab my feet. Very uncomfortable. But the right pair was pretty good. This pair of Salewa is very nice looking. But the down fall would be the heel slipping and defective pair. So I returned it. Listen to the other review and go a half size down. I did and it fit nicely with plenty of toe room. I really love the way it looks. And would of given it another chance and exchange it but they didn't have my size. Oh well

These run a half size larger than most. Order down when selecting this shoe. I had to return mine because they were too big.

Haven't worn them so I cant say much about the stickiness of the sole but the sizing is absolutely incorrect. I normally wear 6.5 mens (= 8.5 women's). The 8.5 in this item was about 1 full size too big. I was swimming in 8.5. Will return for smaller size. The construction looks beautiful. Dont know how it will actually wear or how sticky they will be on the rocks.

They do run really large. I usually wear an 8.5 in running shoes. In these the 7.5 is perfect. Nice high toe box.

I was a little nervous ordering a brand I'd never worn before. Very pleased with these. True to size, and comfy right out of the box. Looking forward to many long walks and hikes in my blue blue shoes. Thanks, as always, Sierra!

I don't always believe the negative reviews but for me they were true. The first time I put on these shoes with my heaviest wool hiking socks I thought they were great. They were comfortable and good looking. I then started walking around they house and found that the heel was slipping on the back of my foot, That does not work when you use the shoes for hiking so I sent them back.

Love that you have 2 kinds of insoles to use which is great for my narrow feet. This is my second pair of Salewa shoes, both were awesome!

I bought these shoes for my wife, thinking she'd love them. When they arrived, they looked impressive - construction looked awesome to me. She liked them too. But once on her feet, it became clear that the 3F lacing system didn't hold in her heel as much as we'd hoped (yes, the sizing was good - and the fit true). We tried multiple different ways to lace her up, but none really helped. Her biggest complaint was that the cuff around her ankle seemed too hard and uncomfortable. We sent them back, but I was impressed enough that I bought my own pair.

Unfortunately, I experienced the same issues with my pair, and sent mine back too.
