TAt the outset, these boots are far less comfortable than the Merrells that I have used for the past several years. It took some pai9nful blister development to get them to a comfort level that I appreciated. Now they are OK and I walk in the daily. The heel area seems to be wearing at about the rate I would expect, being that I am hard on heels. Not sure I would buy these again if I had to pay their "list" price.
The Merrell boots have been having a "keeper" pull out problem and these are made better in that area.

This is my second pair of Garmont Hiking boots I purchased from STP. I liked the first pair so much that I kept an eye on STP website and looked for a 2nd pair. There were no more available in my size. I wear size 9 1/2 in street shoes but get size 10 in hiking boos to accommodate inserts and medium weight hiking socks, This particular boot runs small so I exchanged the Garmont size 10 for size 11, After a week I saw there was another pair available in size 11 in a different color, apparently some had returned a pair for a different size too. I called STP immediately and placed an order before my size was gone! It pays to keep a look-out on the STP website. I am impressed by the out-of-the-box comfort, great traction on wet grass and mud, and the combo of nubuck and fabric of these boots make them breathable too. I can wear them all day without getting sweaty feet!

Solid constructions. Very well made with no visible flaws. Not sure how they will perform on the trail but are very comfortable on the first try on. At the STP price I wish I had bought several pairs.

I was pleasantly surprised with yet another great value I received from STP!. These boots were on sale and looked to be just the ticket for daily wear to work, and hikes on the rocky trails of the Appalachian Mountains that I call home. These boots are as comfortable as a pair of athletic shoes and fit me like a glove. Awesome. Love the Rubber Rand on the toe and found they provide excellent traction on wet grass and muddy ground.
This is the first pair of Garmont HIking boots I ever owned and normally wear a size 10. This particular model runs small so STP exchanged them for a size 11, Perfect. No break in, great right out of the box!
I returned the size 10 boots and Sierra turned them around before the end of the same week! Great Service, easy exchange,

I recently received these boots and I have taken them out and hiked roughly about 40 miles ,it's summer so I have not been able to test their waterproofness and in Southern California all the streams have pretty much dried out but with Gore-Tex I'm pretty sure they will be fine the boots are very comfortable they fit perfect right out of the box I normally wear a size 10.5 and I bought these boots in a size 11 which was perfect because that extra little bit of foot room allows me to wiggle my toes and makes these boots much more comfortable than if I would have bought them to size I would highly recommend these boots to anyone who wants a good boot ,they are relatively lightweight for boots very comfortable and they get great traction on the trail

I purchased these boots for winter wear so haven't worn them yet. As previously rated, they are very high qualify e.g. Gore text and vibrant.. This is but 4 stars as I've not worn.

The purchase was an extraordinary deal as the boots are listed at $190 and I paid $65.

These are great boots - lightweight, comfortable, hold feet in place, easy to tie, etc. I ordered a half size larger than usual which was a good decision.

I was a little apprehensive about ordering these due to the comments about sizing. After a little more research ordered my normal size and they are very much true to size. Plenty of room in the toe box for thicker socks. Great boots, would definitely get them again.

UPS just dropped these boots off a half hour ago. I am super pleased. These are the coolest boots I've ever owned. Their having Goretex in their construction was extremely important to me. I had a pair of such boots when I was managing a full service tunnel car was and my feet could breathe without getting wet. I don't remember what brand they were but I wore them until the tread literally fell off. I was in the market for a pair of hiking boots after going camping at a walk in site and had to go up n down steep, slick GA inclines, slipping n sliding the whole way. My Nike hi-tops just didn't cut it. So I lucked upon Sierra Trading Post somehow and was really impressed by their selection. So.. I researched for 3 days before settling upon the Garmonts. I loved their look.. that they incorporated Goretex in construction, and were reported to run true to size, which was not the case for other boots, buyers reporting boots as being a half size, and even a whole size too small, narrow, etc. I just wasn't willing to chance a wildcard purchase. These boots feel awesome... snug while not feeling too tight. They have really nice arch support, and my big toe seems to be a 1/2 inch from the end of the toe box. I'm going on my first hike ever this weekend. I look forward to wearing these boots for this hike and many more to come, as well as going back to Shady Grove Campground, where the paths and lake bank are slick, damp Ga clay. Cheers and happy trails!
