Woolrich Bateau Fair Isle Sweater (For Women)

Closeouts. Woolrich's Bateau Fair Isle sweater is a playful interpretation of this popular jacquard pattern -- squared off at the bateau neckline and adorned with an orderly flock of stylized sheep. Fabric is a plush blend of acrylic, wool and dreamy-soft mohair.

Liked this one way better than the much more expensive one, which was just as flimsy.

I love the look of this sweater but anticipated that it would be substantially heavier (and warmer) than it is. It was pretty useless for warding off the cold when wearing it with an undershirt, warm turtleneck, and unlined raincoat and temps in the mid 40's. I am keeping it, but it is a lot less useful than I thought it would be.

Hit the jack pot with this Woolrich sweater. The color (ombre in effect) is so rich and very organic. It matches the personality of the person that is receiving it as a gift. It has all the qualities that make a "forever sweater".

The neck opening is loose, sort of boxy, but the body is just right. It's a lightweight sweater, and it makes me smile.

Rich colors and nice graphics. Daughter loves it! Fits true to size.

The sweater is much thinner than I thought, but that's just fine. It's quite soft too, but still itchy enough to need a shirt underneath. The fit is generous enough that it will be easy to wear a thermal underneath in the winter and just a t-shirt underneath on warmer days. I love the colors. It's really retro and cute.

Based on the photos, I was expecting a thick, traditional Fair Isle sweater, but when it arrived it was very light and airy (not a tight knit), and also pretty scratchy. In terms of fit, I'm 5'-4" , 32" around the chest and I ordered the small, which was loose and frumpy. The sleeves in particular were puffy, and tapered to the cuff in an unflattering flattering way. They colors are really nice, and I love the little square sheep at the neckline, but the fit was all wrong, and I had to send it back.

Its a beautiful sweater but it is very itchy so I will have to wear a turtle neck under it.

This sweater was exactly what I was looking for. Soft, and not too bulky for wearing over a t-shirt and under a jacket- its got great shape for being oversized, so I don't end up looking sloppy either. Most sweaters these days are quite fitted-especially in the local gear shop (where I saw this one for almost a Benjamin!) I originally ordered the XXL (I'm 5'5, 165, full chest, wide shoulders) because I really did want something oversized-but sent it back for the XL (which is plenty large) instead. I've received many compliments on it, and people around here definitely recognize the vintage Woolrich sheep!

I like this sweater, it's just not as warm as I thought it would be. I was hoping for a thicker wool sweater. Probably better for Fall versus Winter.
