Very much worth the money. Took these on a October mile deer hunt at 10,600 ft and they were awesome. The best part is they keep you warm but after hiking all night to get where you want to be In the morning is the sweat doesn't soak them like it does cotton and your legs can breath! Very comfy and well made. Wore them for 3 straight days with no issues.

First time trying these. I work in the oil field and wanted to get something the was not synthetic. It is cold outside right now and these are doing a great job as the keeping me warm. The do not slip down and don't irritate my leg hair. For their price you can not beat it. I will be ordering more for the upcoming winter because here in North Dakota -40 is not a big thing.

Have only worn once. Performed hiking trail maintenance this past weekend in the mountains with lows in the 30s. Despite strong winds and rain, kept me warm in my sleeping bag all night. Cannot judge durability at this point so holding back one star. Fit was good, but were a little loose for me - size large for 6'2" with 35" sleeve at 185 lbs.

I've used SmartWool base layers for years working on adventure tourism itineraries in the Arctic and have found nothing to work better. Not bulky, soft, stretchy, warm when it needs to be and comfortable at warmer temperatures, with a durability that has stood the test of many, many washings. Since we have moved to Michigan from Florida, I bought these for my husband. He has not used them yet, but the fit was perfect, the quality as I have come to expect from SmartWool, and I expect the same performance when the weather turns cold.

Quality product, true to size fit and warmer than polyester base layers. This is my second pair of these bottoms.

I finally was able to get my hands on a size large in this piece for a good Sierra Trading Post price. I had an XL, but it was too loose for my 33" waist. The reason I got a large was not only because of the extra inseam length, but I expect to wear this over another baselayer pant in extreme conditions. I would also like to note that just because a large technically is too big of a size for my waist, it really isn't since the way the elastic waist band was made accommodates for that.

I have not yet tested this particular size (and perhaps different model) compared to my other Smartwool baselayer pants in the XL, but based on how well my XL's have treated me, these get five stars, especially after trying them on and feeling how comfortable they were.

Nevertheless, these might actually not even be the ones that I keep for good! The Kryptek Hoplite Merino Baselayer Pants have definitely caught my attention, especially as a hunter. I am really looking forward to trying those on and comparing them to these amazing Smartwool baselayer pants.

I bought these for my boyfriend who spends a good amount of time outdoors for work in the winter and he loves these! He said they were a great weight, kept him warm while outside but didn't make him overheat when he was inside. I would definitely recommend!
