I wear Asolos most of the time for everyday and hiking. But, I am very disappointed in Asolo for these shoes.
They are not true to size and this style is not cut right due to a
poor design with stitch bulges that rub on top of foot.
    Sent them back.

I already own a pair of high top Asolo's, so I ordered these with high expectations, but they were so stiff and uncomfortable, they were returned. These shoes are just not made well, there is a large bulge of material on both sides of the tongue flap that pressed on the bones on top of my feet, making them impossible to break in. I also read another review that mentioned their foot slipping out of the back due to their orthotics, but I don't wear them, my foot still slipped out of the back. This needs to be redesigned, I have never owned another pair of hiking shoes made this way. I am also mad at myself for not checking into the returns process, so now I have wasted $6.95 to "try on" a pair of shoes. I will stick with brick and mortar stores from now on.

I really wanted these to work for me. They are absolutely gorgeous, incredibly well made, terrific sole--but too narrow for me...and I have an ever so slightly narrower than medium foot. I am a size 7 1/2-8 normally: I first ordered the 8, then a 7 1/2, then 7, turns out the 7 fit me in the length and the arch was in the correct place. However, the toe box was just too narrow and not exactly squished my toes together, but I could never have worn them without pain or fear of blisters. Sadly, they had to go back. If you have a truly narrow foot, I say go for them.

These are rugged but honestly wear like a slipper. I don't know how they do it. I am in love with these shoes. (Look GREAT, too).

I did love this shoe as I put it on...however there was zero room for my orthotic to fit in the bottom. It held my foot to high and my ankle would slip almost out when I put my arch support/orthotic inside. As I was heading off on a 7 day backpack trip I had to choose a different pair...though I love the style of this shoe...it just didn't meet my needs. ??

These are definitely shoes for serious hiking and trails--might not be so great for everyday walking shoes. The soles are extremely stiff.

I have worn Asolo boots for 30 years and shoes for 15. This pair of shoes has a different last from the others. It seems to run a bit big (the ususal Eur 39/US 8 is now EUR 40/US 8) which is okay for thick hiking socks. The oddest part is that the left shoe/outside seriously abrades my ankle. I have never had this problem with any brand of sports shoes. I wonder if these shoes are seconds.

It's been less than four months and the inside back of the heel areas now have a hole in both the left and right. I did wonder about the thinness of the material there as they use mesh. It's comfortable even without the padding on the soles other shoes provide, but apparently the thin material they use does not last with normal wear. I won't be purchasing again.

These are extremely well made well crafted waterproof hiking shoes. They are not only comfortable and durable, they are beautiful to look at. Asolo has reinforced every spot on the shoe to withstand serious hiking. I did find them a bit roomy in the toe from top to bottom though. My past experience with Asolo is that the toe box is extremely well fitted for the typical human foot. Where as other brands often have way too much lateral room in the toe box. So I was a bit surprised as to the vertical mobility of the toes, but I do not anticipate this being a problem as too much lateral room is a bigger danger to blisters and unrestricted movement.
