I bought this for a recent ski trip to Northern Arizona (yes, we get snow here!) The first day was 7 degrees with crazy winds so the operations were shut down. I was standing outside in the wind and cold and was warm throughout my torso. Hands were cold but that was a glove thing... The next day we got to ski. The temps were about 19 degrees and I wore a Hot Chillys thermal and a lightweight fleece over that, followed by the jacket. I'm not one for a lot of bulk - I rather dress in thin and smart layers. I thought I might be cold when I saw the temps but I was not. Even on the lifts where the wind would pick up, I was warm (aside from those blasted hands again...that's another story). I can't testify to the waterproofness of this jacket as I don't spend my time IN the snow and weather was dry. The pockets are well placed and plentiful. The hood was roomy enough to be over a beanie with a pompom. The sleeves are a perfect length to be able to move around. I should mention that I'm a woman, 5'8" with broad athletic shoulders. The coat was a bit more roomy in the belly area but that's what I get for wearing mens...I was fine with it. I can't seem to find womens stuff that fits my shoulders without having a complete tent around my belly so I usually resort to mens coats/jackets in a size Medium. This one was perfect....great deal, I'm very happy with it.

I bought this jacket for the fact that it was Gore Tex and the price was very fair. The first time I wore it was snowboarding during a big storm, (lots of snow and wind) it had just enough insulation with a couple layers to keep me warm and the hood was plenty big to go over my helmet. The hood is almost too big to use without a helmet! It has good sized pockets. I wish it had wrist gaiters as well. Overall it is a really nice jacket for the money and the colors, (I got the green one) really cool! It fits just slightly big, but if you want to layer then you should be fine. And the sleeves aren't too short by any means.

Materials are very nice -- they feel substantial and the promise of Gore-Tex waterproofing is a big selling point. The insulation does not add much weight or bulk to the coat but the warmth is definitely felt. I was pleasantly surprised after skiing in just shells for years. It's not so heavy that I've had to completely change my layering strategy, I'm just warmer overall. There are pit zips if you need to vent out a little heat/bring in a little cool air. It's January as I write this, and I expect that for spring skiing I'll be doing some venting.

I'm thin-built and 6'2" and normally have to order XL just for my long arms & torso. This coat is long & roomy (expected) but the sleeves were longer than I expected (not a problem, I was just surprised). Part of me wonders if I could have gone with a size large, but I'm happy with the XL as it allows room for layering underneath and I can pull the sleeves over my gloves. I only bring it up in case you're between sizes and worried about sleeve length.

Very happy with this jacket, very highly recommended.

This is a well thought out and designed ski jacket. Although a tad heavy, if you are using a ski lift what's the difference? The Gore-tex shell is substantial and the insulation is sufficient for all but the coldest of days. But that's why we layer isn't it? Pit zip help vent the jacket on warm-ish days and the internal pockets come in handy

Product is exactly as described in the product details. It is prefect weight for warmer skiing and built to handle layers beneath when it gets cold.

Clean good looking jacket that is very waterproof(did the shower test for 20 mins and came out perfectly dry). The fit seems to be average with a little room for a underlayment. It is an insulated jacket, but not enough for -10 to -20 nights.
I would buy another one in a few years again.

On first look, it's sturdy, warm and dry. Will perform well in the cold and wet weather. The sizes are big. I ended up purchasing on size down.

Great jacket but for an XL the sleeves were too short and I had to return it. Maybe with thumb holes it would have worked but bare wrists don't cut it for gorilla arms.
