Nice, functional, lightweight shorts. Recently purchased some Kjus shorts and was really happy with them but STP had a limited quantity (namely 1) of each so I looked around for some other high quality, lightweight shorts. These are a bit on the longer side (hence the long version in the name) and go to about just below my kneecaps (normally a 33" inseam). I found that a bit too long at first but I have grown to like them. The added length provides a bit more protection from tall grass, sticks, bugs, etc. The waist seems a bit loose considering Arc'teryx is sized by exact waistband and not a range. I normally wear a 36" and bought a 36" but they are pretty loose in the waist. This may be because of the relaxed fit that Arc'teryx describes on the label, or they are mislabeled, not too sure. Other Arc'teryx pants I have purchased were pretty accurate to the 36" waist but these were much more of a normal/athletic fit and before I think then they even marketed having different fits for their products. I definitely need a belt with these shorts-especially if I have stuff in the pockets. The material is lightweight and very breathable but has a bit of heft to it where you are comfortable that they won't get ripped too easily (moreso than the Kjus). I like the multitude of pockets-the right cargo pocket (when wearing) has both an "inner" pocket behind the flap, and a regular pocket underneath the flap. I find the inner pocket to be convenient because the cargo pockets are pretty roomy and stuff can get lost in there. For the inner flapless pocket you can just reach in and grab something from there without having to deal with fishing around and pealing the flap back.So far they wash great as well.
