This is my very favorite backpack ever! The straps are perfect and won't leave you sore. The backpack is light weight but durable and it folds up tiny if you are not using it. Seriously a traveler's dream.

I bought this for the 2nd time for my husband when we found out we needed a lightweight tote to dress in layers for a trip to Alaska. It has better features than a pack for twice the price at REI, but has better features, including
    -more pockets
-more padding against the back and on shoulders
    -outside zipper pocket
    -side drink mesh pockets
    -pretty colors!
-neatly fits into its attached zipper bag. Measures 5" by 7" by 2 1/2" when stuffed.

I bought this backpack for my husband after buying one for myself. we are going to Alaska, and are told to bring a lightweight tote bag so we can dress in layers. I bought a VERY small one at REI, but ended up returning it when this arrived, because it has more features and seems to be made to last longer. Features I love:
-Even though it is lightweight, it has some padding on the shoulder straps and back for comfort
-Two side pockets have mesh fabric with elastic at top to hold tight, good for phone, drinks, or small articles
-Large outside zipper pocket with easy access even if you keep the pack on
-Stuff sack rotates to an inside zipper pocket (zipper functions on both sides) and is ATTACHED to the pack so you won't lose it
-The other inside pocket has elastic at the top to divide your articles inside
-Easy to stuff into its sack with stuffed dimensions of 5" by 7" by 2.5"

This backpack hardly weighs anything at all, which is the good news. However, it arrived packed into its little pocket and was terribly wrinkled. So it was very unattractive when I put it on. I ironed it with the appropriate low setting and that helped. But, of course, when it's packed back into the pocket it will get badly wrinkled again. I think I'll keep it and just not use the pocket feature.

This bag is packable, and I like the quality of material. The bag is fabulous all around except for the bottom. The bottom of the bag is not reinforced at all, it's just a thin layer of outer shell, while the rest of the bag has lining. Perhaps it was designed to be that way since it's packable. I am keeping it.

That bag can easily be put in a bag or suitcase, and used on it own for day-trips. Light but not flimsy.

I do a lot of traveling and wanted a lightweight packable backpack to tuck in my carry on. The nicer ones with side pockets for water bottle and umbrellas are surprisingly pricy. Less expensive ones are just cheap and flimsy and no outside pocket for a water bottle. This was perfect. Good quality for what it is and you can't beat the price.

Wanted a daypack for outings in Alaska where you need layers of clothing for all day excursions plus camera, sunscreen, wallet, water, and snacks. This should work perfectly. It's very light weight yet roomy. Also like the wide straps. Might spray with waterproofing for extra protection against the rain.

For the packability and price, you can't beat this. My wife and I recently climbed Half Dome in Yosemite, and this is the pack she used. While I carried some of her items, she still managed to fit her 3L camelbak, along with some clothes and food. A sternum or waist belt would have been nice, but for the price on STP, it did the job.
