I bought this jacket to replace my very old light weight coated rain jacket I'd had since the early '90s and had served me very well with no complaints. When I first opened the package and saw the plastic zipper i just about threw it away. The first thing I thought was "how cheap, this will never hold up". However I figured I'd give it a try, after all it did have pit zips and even though I have no idea about the lining material it did look waterproof/windproof and that is what I wanted it for, light weight hiking in the rain and wind.
I tried it on and it fit great, not tight but not super loose and the length was the way I like my jackets. So I tossed it in my pack and relied it doesn't pack down as well as my old one but not bad. I headed out on the trail with 90% chance of rain and winds of 11 mph predicted so I thought that would be a good test. I was right, within an hour it started raining so I pull on the jacket and even with the pit zips wide open I could fell the extra warmth by cutting the wind. As I continued hiking, the rain stopped so I unzipped the front but kept the jacket on as the wind was still coming through the trees at a good clip and kept hiking. An hour later the rain started again. By this time I was feeling wet under the jacket due to sweating, I expected that, after all it is coated so it does not breath at all. No problem I was still plenty warm and protected from the wind.
After 15 miles I got back to the car damp from sweat but warm. I was very surprised and happy at how this jacket held up to my first hike with it. I'm still a bit concerned about the material the zippers are made out of and how long they will hold up, only time will tell. I will also change out the zipper pull strings with longer ones so I can find them easier get a better grip with my gloves on.

I am 6'2" with 36" sleeves and a 44 chest. I purchased the XL and the fit is perfect, not boxy at all. As to its performance, haven't used it yet.

I have the Red version of this coat and it is great in extreme wet weather. It works great when layering with my Woolrich sweater. However the Yellow coat looks like Mustard and is very ugly so I returned it.

This jacket is great for a cold, windy day. I got a large, and there's enough room for a fleece or thin down jacket underneath on really cold days.

Beautiful coat. But with little time hiking up a mountain, I was all wet inside.

This rain jacket is has been great. I did have to send the first one back because one of the hood drawstrings snapped, and hopefully that doesn't happen again. Otherwise, great, solid rain jacket. As others have noted, it isn't very breathable, but you're probably looking at a higher price point if that's crucial for you.

This jacket is going to work great for rainy days. I haven't had a chance to wear it in the rain yet, but it fits well and looks good. I am 6'2", 190 lbs and the large fits well. The fit is trim so I will not be able to wear a layer under it, but I did not want something for cold weather.

After a few hours in a steady drizzle, I expected some water to wick around the hood and the cuffs, but didn't expect rain to seep into much of the top half of the coat. I was pretty drenched from shoulders through mid chest and from neck to tailbone. This was with the hood up and cinched throughout, pit zips closed, pocket zippers closed, and with cuffs cinched. I didn't notice a problem with perspiration, but would say it's far from waterproof. I've worn it a few times in shorter duration light rain and not noticed any significant problems.

While it's fairly light and packable, it doesn't pack into one of the pockets.
