These socks were not comfortable and wore out very quickly. I do not recommend them to serious hikers.

As the other reviews have noted, these are odd-fitting socks. I washed them before wearing and when I put them on, I thought they had shrunk. But I actually just think they were constructed wrong. I still wear them, but it's a struggle.

Literally, these are now trash. The heel seam is so badly sewn that holes appear in the sock before they are worn. Still, I thought I might get some use out of them (as there was no point in returning one pair of socks), but the cut is just as poor as the workmanship. If you put the heel seam on your heal, the top of the sock sits at a weird angle, part above your ankle and part below. Worse purchase ever.

I like the height of these. Just above the collar of the shoe but not up over the ankle. They are comfortable. Not sure how durable they'll be but I'm suspicious. The seem on the diagonal up from the heel (you can see it in the picture) is pretty loose to the point where you can see through the stitching. But maybe that's what the Kevlar is for. We'll see.

Looked good in the ad, but after the very first wash it shrank and then developed holes in toes area.

These socks are the perfect size, just over the ankle. Not too high, not too low. Hard to find! I can wear for street runs, trail runs, with hiking boots, or casually. Have washed a few times, seems like they will hold up nicely.

great sock looking to change from cotton to merlino wool

I have really liked my new running socks so far. It is nice that they come up past my shoe so that I don't rub blisters on my heel. The light weight wool makes it easy to temperature control. They stay warm enough that my feet don't freeze in cool weather, but are not so hot that I am more miserable in the heat of the summer. My favorite socks are still the Feeture verson of this sock in merino wool, but for the price and the comparable performance I plan on using this as my main go-to running sock.
