Reviewed by OHMatt from Ohio on Thursday, February 1, 2018I've been using the Coleman brand backpacking TP for 20 years. I decided to try this because of the great STP price. Coghlan's makes some good products and some not so good products. This would fall into the latter category.
After getting it in the mail I decided to do a side by side comparison with my remaining supply of Coleman. It is considerably thinner and not as strong. While the textures vary considerably, softness on the skin is about the same. I went into the "test lab" perform for a performance test. With the Coghlan's, you're going to want to use double the number of sheets or you're going to experience an inconvenient tear. The Coghlan's also ended up producing more "roly bits" of TP with use, requiring more TP to dust them off.
Still gets two stars. It will do the job with proper technique, just not as well as the other brand. It is still biodegradable, coreless, and well priced.
