Steel wool meets tinfoil. Riviera makes plenty of pants using luxurious, supple fabrics, but these trousers were voted off that island. I didn't bother trying them on, so I can't comment on the fit. Old-timey fabric here: stiff, somewhat abrasive to the touch, with a memory for wrinkles—the pants arrived with set-in wrinkles. (That is not a description of my grandfather, but will do as a recollection of his suits.) The tag line that these are "soft and lightweight with a smooth nap" was clearly written by someone whose own wardrobe is tailored exclusively of burlap.

These are the second pair of Riviera pants I have purchased from Sierra. Unless I am mistaken about the difference between a worsted wool and flannel fabric these pants are not flannel. That being said I wanted a worsted wool dress pant and got a high quality and comfortable one. They are the perfect weight for working in a climate controlled environment.

I ordered my usual 33 reg. I'm 5'-10," but these are cut for someone who would be comfortable with a short rise.

This is not worsted flannel fabric, as stated by STP. The fabric is nice, but it is a hard, worsted wool.

These fit true to size in the waist, and trim but by no means tapered in the hip, thigh, leg. They're very straight leg, in the original meaning of the words. The fabric is a good medium weight: not thick, exactly, but much more substantial than worsteds or cotton khakis. The rise is about 11" on my size 30's. Too bad they don't have onseam pockets, then they would be perfect.
