One things for sure, this will keep me warm come winter. It has a rugged yet sophisticated appearance, and totally acceptable in the office or out on the town. I look forward to many days and year of use.
There are a ton of pockets on this too. Love the extra efforts to include mp3 player access through a pocket, and an earphone cord holder along the seam. -

I purchased this vest in charcoal and a large fits like it has been tailored for me. I'm 6' and 195. I was glad to see STP added the deep galaxy green version of the same vest. The other vests listed here are different and I can not comment. The fit, color and versatility (lots of pockets) are great. The Royal Robbins quality shines through. Great vest, at a great price. Go for it while it lasts.

Quality build, but fit is oddReviewed by A rambler in Virginia from Virginia on Saturday, October 7, 2017I'm 6'1", 168lbs (longer, thinner torso than trunk) and I normally do best with anything slimmer-fit. I got a medium, Dark Galaxy Green. Stylish with nice earthy colors. The materials and build quality are very good, as I've come to expect from RR. It's pretty sturdy, and while it's been too warm to test, I suspect it would cut through the fall and winter chill like a champ...IF the following were not a problem.
What did NOT work for me was the fit around the torso. You will notice in the picture that the bottom of the garment flares out around the hips. What you can't see, is that it also flares out under the arms. So instead of lying flush with your sides from the bottom of the arm hole to the bottom hem, you get this shape: ) ( . I don't know what the design rationale is for this, but its ugly, unnecessarily baggy under the arms, and too open around the hips. In short, It's a love letter to the cold air. As you might have guessed, I returned it. You might get away with sizing down, but I still think the double flare will annoy.
