I've always been happy with Royal Robbins' pants, and these are no exception--true to size, well tailored, flattering.

The waist was too high, but I like to wear jeans lower on my waist. Unflattering fit on me 5'4, a little heavy.

Heavy denim and generally too big everywhere. I wanted to like them because they're well made, but they just don't fit me. In the past Royal Robbins seemed to be cut for the straight up and down type figure and for me, tended to run small. I'm a size 2 with a small waist and long legs, but with definite curves. This time, the 2 was clearly made for someone bigger than me in every dimension. Reluctantly, it was returned. I can see this being an excellent purchase for a bigger built person.

The waist in these cut in a lot, while the hips fit fine. I'd like to think that I'm a regular size 10, but not in these jeans! Anyway - mine were returned, perhaps they will work better for someone else.

I had never purchased this brand before; they seem to be a very high quality pair of jeans, but from the description and other reviews, I was expecting dressier denim and a much lighter weight fabric. These are a very heavy, ourdoorsy pair of pants, much too hot and heavy for summer, which I was hoping for, esp as advertised moisture wicking. These jeans will MAKE you sweat! (maybe that's why they needed to be wicking???) But the size 6 was a perfect fit (except length) I am 5'5" 125 lbs. They will be a great pair of nice jeans for the cold weather, but way too "jeans" looking to be considered dressy

About Royal Robbins

By the late-1960s, veteran Yosemite rock climber Royal Robbins and his wife Liz had grown tired of wearing cutoff jeans on the crag. At the time, apparel designed specifically for outdoor adventure was virtually non-existent. After years of wishing for something better, the couple finally decided to create their own, starting with a pair of climbing shorts called the “Billy Goat.” This was the beginning of Royal Robbins’ clothing revolution. Today, nearly 50 years later, Royal Robbins outdoor clothing is as rugged and reliable as ever. When you buy a Royal Robbins sweater or shirt, or a Royal Robbins pair of pants or shorts, you can bet it will fit great, whether you’re climbing in the Sierra Nevadas, camping in the backcountry or relaxing in your own backyard.
