By the late-1960s, veteran Yosemite rock climber Royal Robbins and his wife Liz had grown tired of wearing cutoff jeans on the crag. At the time, apparel designed specifically for outdoor adventure was virtually non-existent. After years of wishing for something better, the couple finally decided to create their own, starting with a pair of climbing shorts called the “Billy Goat.” This was the beginning of Royal Robbins’ clothing revolution. I really liked the dark red portion. the ends of the sleeves weren't cherry red. they might have had the lightest tint of an orange in there which I didn't like as much but it fit my arms wonderfully I think and the body length was great for my tall self and since it's a long style it could work on just about anyone, but I found it a little bit itchy so I figure I wouldn't wear it as planned. for those without super sensitive skin it might be great.

5.0 out of 5 stars. buy this.Reviewed by Betty from Massachusetts on Monday, October 30, 2023even better than I thought it would be- women's winter coats only have great pockets if they are wool or $1000- I bought this to wear under my winter coat to hold my gloves scarf and hat while I am grocery shopping- it has a million wicked awesome pockets but the best one is a big meshy stretchy pocket on the inside-- the sleeves zip off so I will wear it as a vest. The fabric is soft. very good quality. I got some ladies' shirts from this brand- great stuff. Haven't washed it yet.

3.0 out of 5 stars. long for the size and not taperedReviewed by allroad from high desert on Wednesday, October 4, 2023Like the other review mentioned, these are the fleecy interior version of Royal Robbins Alpine pants, very warm, and they're long for a give size, so unless you needs lots of inseam, you'll be folding them up. There is a cinch at the bottom, but this and their straight-leg lack of taper means there is lots of pant fabric at the bottom to cope with. They're not wide enough to go over ski boots or other heavy boots, but not tapered to stay out of the way either.
