simply the best

We have an older version of this jacket that our 50 lb Australian shepherd loves (size medium). We got the current version for our new 6 month old puppy--he's 30 lbs and we got him a medium in anticipation of some hefty growth spurts. The newer jacket seems to have a slightly thinner fleece lining. Not a big deal, since it seems plenty warm. Our dogs seem to love them both--or at least, ignore the fact that they're wearing them.

Pros:
Easy to put on--it just goes over the pup's head and you snap the buckles on the side. No putting dancing paws through "arm" holes.

Durable outer fabric that has stood up to running through the woods, light rain, etc. Aside from some dirt, the older jacket looks brand new after about 3 years of seasonal use.

Insulation--we wanted a jacket that would stand up to some precipitation but that also had insulation for warmth. This one has the perfect balance of protection from the elements, warmth, and ventilation (so active dogs don't get too warm!)

Plus it has reflective piping and a little loop for a blinkie light.

Cons:
The older version had an elastic band in the neck opening, which makes sliding it over the dog's ears easier. The newer version doesn't have it. It still fits over our pups head, but the extra roominess was a nice feature.

Overall, this is the best jacket we've found and fully expect it to last for years to come.
  • Best Uses: Cold weather, Light rain or mist
