Careful - You get what you pay for!

I picked these up because they were dirt cheap on sale (although I don't recall the ones I purchased being labeled as "seconds"). Anyway, I wasn't expecting much at the price, but I didn't think they'd be as uncomfortable as they are. They have no insoles or lining, and anyone who requires some arch support is going to have a rough time. The soles are on the stiff side and look like they'd be pretty durable. I found these uncomfortable to stand in (forget about walking) and the caps over the toes pressed down on my big toes, which would have quickly become painful if I'd worn them for any length of time. For these reasons if I had to get these again I'd get a size bigger than usual and wear a double layer of socks. They are clearly no substitute for real desert or hiking boots but at the price they might be a good value for some people -- and they do make something of a fashion statement. Just don't forget those socks!
