Fits my 8 1/2 ft Rise 4 piece with the new Sage 1850 reel perfectly. Strong cordura on the outside. Great for taking to and from the water.

    • They're talking about the size of your rod. The case itself is pretty compact.

    • That's the size of the rod that will fit in the case. I have this case and it fits my 8.5 4 piece fly rod perfectly with reel attached. Hope this helps.

    • It is the size of the rod.

I have two of the cases that I place in a "beneath the seat" hatch on a bonefish skiff
to avoid clutter in the rod tubes. They both hold short 4 piece bass rods: one 7'10"
and the other 8'3" with the reels attached. Safe and not needing to be cleaned if never
used. The inside of the case is black, and it is a little difficult to put the rod away in low
levels of light (could be my vision too?). There are individual compartments and it
seems best to put the tip section in first, in the rear... with the rod butt and reel placed
last in the lowest compartment. The case also stores nicely in the back hatch of a station
wagon for those opportune side of the road opportunities.
