Right out of the box they felt like old friends! Lots of toe room for down hill comfort, super light and breathable... nice rugged sole with lots of grip...great for a mild to moderate terrain day hike with your fur ball buddy! I would compare them with the scarpa gecko light but a little more of a firm sole. They also look great for everyday wear. I ordered another pair shortly after getting them... my first hike with a Salewa... and I had a new favorite brand instantly! Won’t replace a sturdy boot for backpacking but for a day hike I can’t say enough!
