Verified Buyer Reviewed by SoDakian from Black Hills, SD on Friday, April 29, 2016A little skeptical of the lacing system but have been pleasantly surprised! Have approx. 50 miles of single-track dirt trail on them at them moment, and no signs of excessive tread wear. Overall shoe material has remained entirely intact and show no signs of fatigue in any of the normal stress areas. Completely satisfied with the purchase!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by aanna from Greencastle PA on Friday, April 1, 2016I bought this shoe for my son to run in, but he won't take it off and is wearing it to school. He is picky with his shoes, and I hit the bull's eye with this purchase for him.

“I like Solomon quality but have yet to find anything matching the Hoka One One in the cushion department. I just bought a New Balance (Fresh Foam zante) and Saucony (HurricaneISO) both are great shoes but not the Maximalist type as I thought after reading an article. In terms of cushioning probably in between a regular and max cushioned runners.
That said, I'm looking for a maximum cushioning with a very rigid / firm outer sole does the Sense Mantra 2 fit that profile?
The outer is rigid and handles gravel and sharp ground very well . Cushion is great , I have bad knees and get shin splints with most shoes and so far these perform great .The shoe is light on the foot but gives good support. I have no woren the other shoes you listed so I can not compare them . They are very breathable and my feet get cold on the tops
I would say that the Salomon provides cushion and rigidity. I have just 12 trail miles on these shoes so far. They are my first trail running shoes. I am an older runner and need cushion or my knees hurt. So far I am happy with the cushion the Mantras. As far as rigidity, these shoes fit very snug (more than my road Sauconys); I assume that is to keep your foot feeling the true trail condition. I like my feet not slipping around in the shoe and these shoes seem to hold my feet rigid in the shoe with no slippage. The thing I like best about these shoes is the grip on muddy trails...excellent.
They are super comfortable. They are very well cushioned and perhaps the most comfortable standing/walking and running shoe I've ever owned. I will say that some Asics have had a little softer and more cushion. The sole is pretty rigid and they look nice. I would definitely try them and return them if it doesn't quite fit your needs. I am on my second pair because I loved them so much.
I have used the shoes for a trip to Disneyland averaged ten miles a day. Light weight , comfortable, no problems. I like the laces have had solomans before alway wore well and lightweight. Very light weight. I'm a walker and hiker like 100 mile eleven day hiker. Best for walking I like a medium weight boot for hiking. Hope this helps you out.
